The Iowa Finance Authority will always be a part of my story as I was able to purchase my first home through their down payment assistance program. I proposed to my girlfriend on the front steps and now it’s where we’re beginning our life and dreaming of the future.

Becoming a homeowner was a dream I never dared to believe in. Yet, here I stand, brimming with pride for what I’ve achieved for my family. Now, with six of my family members eagerly stepping into this realm of first-time homeownership, our hearts overflow with gratitude and joy.

Children are the center of our lives – we have five of them of our own and I work with them every day as a daycare provider. Without the down payment assistance through IFA, my family would not have been able to purchase a home of our own.

The down payment assistance through the Iowa Finance Authority made buying our first home within a short distance to both of our workplaces as a teacher and Behavioral Analyst for children with autism possible. We love our home and are looking forward to starting our new families’ story right here in this special place of our own.
